An insurance salesman (Jack Haley) finally gets an appointment with a wealthy man, but when he gets there he finds that the man has died and and left a will that says the relatives have to stay in the house until he is buried. He is also mistaken for a security guard and paid to guard the body as the family try to do away with the body and each other. This is not a classic film, but there are a few good scenes and Jack Haley is OK as the comic lead. Bela Lugosi has a small part as the butler trying to poison all the family, but unsuccessfully. Arguably the plot has similarities with The Cat And The Canary and it uses devices from various country house mysteries (secret panels and pasages, power failures) with Jean Parker as the love interest.
